Nature fun with a stick bug!

So we looked out the window of our kitchen and saw a daddy long legs right next to a  . . . stick bug! Awesomesauce! We grabbed our handy dandy Melissa and Doug bug viewer and magnifying glass and went outside to catch a bug! For those of you who didn't know me before kids, I am NOT fond of creepy crawly critters, but I will do whatever it takes to make sure my little love and enjoy all the nature God has blessed us with. So no more "eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww" (except in my head).

He's such a small stick bug! But kinda cute, right? Mr. T loved looking at him, but we had to leave him and our bug house outside so Mr. Stick could go on his merry way. I don't think bugs make good pets! At least not right now. An ant farm is probably somewhere in our future!

So you really only need a spirit of adventure to have a great nature experience outside with your little ones. What sort of fun things have you discovered lately?

Zoo Atlanta

Zoo Atlanta is one of our favorite spots to hang out. We have lots of fun when we get to go with other homeschool moms and families, too! Here are some of the animal highlights from this year. Where do you love to take your little ones to get out and explore?
