Republic of Tea Chai Frozen yogurt

Oh yes, I did! This recipe is awesome and I made it up! I would like to thank Republic of Tea for making such an awesome Chai and Chobani for making such great yogurt. Without further ado, Chai Frozen Yogurt.

First you have to make the chai concentrate. Bring 1 and 1/2 cups of water to a boil and pour over 4 Republic of Tea Chai tea bags. Let it steep for 7 minutes, then remove tea bags. Stir in 4 tablespoons of honey, and bring the mixture back to a boil. Boil it down to 1 cup, remove from heat, and add 1 tablespoon of vanilla bean paste.

The concentrate. Yum.

Allow this to cool in the refrigerator for one hour then add 2 6 oz cups of Chobani vanilla and 1 cup of plain Chobani greek yogurt. Allow this to mesh together in the fridge for an hour or so. Give it a good stir, then pour it into your ice cream maker.

I have to say I have a great ice cream maker. Cuisineart Ice-21 takes about 15 minutes to whip up soft serve goodness. You just pop it in the freezer for a bit if you want it more firm. I don't have the patience for that.

And again, this is the finished product. Served over white nectarines and white peaches and drizzled with a touch of honey. Sweet, tangy and spicy in a delightfully protein packed frozen treat. Enjoy!

Have you ever found an iced tea that was just perfect? Let me introduce you to Republic of Tea Ginger Peach Iced Tea.

We've had a love affair for about a year now. I have always shied away from flavored iced tea because they are always "off", so I tried to ignore the fact that Republic teas are always spot on (I have 11 varieties in my tea cabinet currently) but I eventually gave in and bought the Eco Iced Tea brew bags. Wow! Even my super picky husband loves it.

I brew two bags at a time because we go through a lot of it. I also add two tablespoons of honey to sweeten it just a tiny bit to bring out the peach flavor. (I use realllllly pale honey for this so it adds sweetness, not flavor. Try Savannah Bee Company's Tea Honey) And that is all you need for a perfect glass of summertime wonderful.

Of course, every good Southern girl likes to have a refreshing grown up drink every now and then, too. So when I put on my favorite lip gloss and heels and have the girls over for an afternoon soiree, this is a great refreshment.

Ginger Peach Summer Sipper

In the bottom of a proper iced tea class (I prefer crystal) muddle together two slices of very ripe peach (peeled) 3 Sweet Mint leaves and a pinch of sugar. Add 4-6 ice cubes and fill to the top with Ginger Peach Iced Tea. Give it a little swirl, add a peach slice for garnish, and ENJOY!

To make a cocktail version add 1 oz of good vodka (Grey Goose or Kettle One are my personal preferences).
