It isn't too late! You can still get your Truth in the Tinsel Advent activity guide today! It's such a wonderful way to incorporate the story of Jesus int your toddler and preschoolers daily December activities. There are great (and easy) craft ornaments to go with each days scripture and lesson. And now (YAY!) there is a great printable ornament pack for days when you don't want to get crafty or if your little hands need to be busy while they are listening.

Truth in the Tinsel Advent for Little Ones ornaments

Here is our Day 1 ornament from last year, and here is the Day 1 printable ornament. Because of our schedule and Mr. F liking to eat craft supplies we will probably do mostly printable ornaments this year, but I really love the crafted ornaments from last year and am planning on picking one or two that we will definitely make. Messes are, after all, proof we have little blessings running around the house!

Here's an easy link to the printable ornaments. And you can find all sorts of great tips and tricks for storing the ornaments, hosting a swap and even learn more about the church curriculum over at the Truth in the Tinsel Blog! I hope you and your sweet ones enjoy learning more about Jesus and His journey this Christmas season!

Christmas Time!

What a beautiful time of year! We've been decorating, having adorable pictures made, and learning all about Jesus, using Truth in the Tinsel, while we celebrate this Advent Season. We celebrated Saint Nicholas Day today and it was so much fun! Mr. T loved finding goodies in his shoe and watching VeggieTales Story of Saint Nicholas! He was not a huge fan of the German Pancake we had for breakfast, though.

Mr. F usually sleeps through all the fun :) The luxury of being the baby, I suppose.

And we have a new tradition this year! The Christmas Angel (an alternative to EOTS) is a wonderful addition and Mr. T loves getting up in the morning and looking for Angel to see what fun service we get to do that day.

I hope you are having a wonderful Advent season! Merry Christmas!

Truth in the Tinsel: Advent Activities for little ones

We have been going through our first Advent activity book with Mr. T. And he is having so much fun with the crafts! He's not too into listening to the stories yet, but I've been reading them to him at meal time so at least he is still. :) I think when he's a little older next year, he will enjoy the stories more.

The wonderful Advent book we have been using is Truth in the Tinsel. It is a wonderful collection of activities for small hands. We've been having so much fun, but I have found that a 22 month old requires all hands on deck when glitter glue, paint, liquid glue, and glass marbles are part of a craft. So here are pictures of Day 1, and I will post the rest closer to Christmas when we have more done.

Mr. T put lots of pretty paper on his candle. And then he put more, and more, and more :)

The finished ornament. A little opaque but absolutely beautiful! Merry Christmas!
